Dr. Ruskin is a registered Clinical and Health Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has over 20 years of experience providing expert psychological assessment and treatment to children, adolescents, parents, families and adults.
Dr. Ruskin completed her Masters in School and Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Toronto and completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Rhode Island. She then completed her residency and post doctoral fellowship at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, specializing in parent-child therapies and psychological management of health conditions.
Dr. Ruskin currently works at the Hospital for Sick Children where she provides psychological assessment and treatment to parents and their children with mood, anxiety and behavioural challenges in the context of health conditions.
In her practice, Dr. Ruskin collaborates with clients to help them achieve their treatment goals, using cognitive behavioural, mindfulness and acceptance approaches, hypnosis and parent-child therapies. Dr. Ruskin is a sought out expert in child and adult mental health and lectures nationally and internationally on these topics along with publishing widely on topics such as parenting, treatments to improve children’s wellbeing and adjustment to health conditions. Dr. Ruskin has served on executive committees to advise the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care on pediatric health and pain management.
Dr. Monique Tremblay, PhD, CPsych (Supervised Practice)
Dr.Tremblay is a Clinical Psychologist in supervised practice. She completed her masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and her pre-doctoral residency at Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children where she completed rotations within the pain program, cardiology, and the Sick Kids Team Obesity Management program. Additionally, Dr. Tremblay has trained at several other hospitals and community mental health agencies, including, McMaster Children’s Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital, and the Reach Out Centre for Kids.
Dr. Tremblay provides psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults struggling with a range of challenges, including, mood and anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic pain, health-related challenges, as well as social and emotional difficulties. Her therapeutic approach is based in cognitive behaviour therapy and integrates components of other evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She is passionate about utilizing a strengths-based approach with clients and her therapeutic style is warm and empathic.
